December Happenings

Hello everybody,
November was pretty much a write off with work and other craziness, my last post was 31st October so I thought it was about time to say something.

I had a birthday and I went out for brunch with my family.
Here I am with my brother and sister. I am so glad we live in the same town!

On the left is my daughter and me, she usually looks goofy in photos (on purpose).

For a birthday treat she agreed to smile sweetly and model a rainbow dress, which I made for a customer to give his God-daughter for Christmas. I am sure she'll love it, but my kiddo was less than impressed! You can find these dresses in my store here, I recently completed two of them at once which was a mammoth effort.

I would like to share with you some of the creations from the Christian Artists Street Team on Etsy.
CAST got a shout out in the team spirit awards which Etsy recently conducted, and there is even a photo of four lovely team members on the Etsy blog page!

Please click on the photos to go through to the item in the team members' shops.

First, here is some beautiful Jewelry from Ornate Treasures.
So pretty in pink, and I have a feeling lots of sellers will be starting to promote their Valentine's Day items any time now!

Sue Runyon makes beautiful jewelry too, and I especially like her latest series of memory wire bracelets, so easy to wear! I like the sophisticated black bracelet the best.

Rita from Sammy's Grammy makes upcycled items, and this one really makes me smile - a bride's purse made from a doily. Something old, right?! I happen to have quite a large collection of doilies waiting to be repurposed.

OK, now this one I totally love. Llamas. What's not to like?
A print of a watercolour from Susan Windsor, affordable art and the perfect gift for any llama lover.
More beads, this time a Christmassy little number from Beads N Style
Judy has done it again with a classy Christmas wreath that really can be enjoyed the whole year round. It contains dried roses as well as seashells. Judy's shop is called AngelsNEverlastings and she also has some cute Christmas angels for the tree.
Kim takes some amazing photos, and I really like this one of a surfer at Huntington Beach in California. You can find cars, flowers, cute animals, scenes from New Mexico and all sorts of goodies in her store, Road Ahead Photos.
This kitchen towel set from Wits End Design reminds me of my mother's Corningware.
Crystal's lilac photo magnet would make a great gift for Mother's Day next year, why not stock up now? You can find all sorts of interesting photos in her store, as well as paper cutouts, bookmarks and cards.
This candle would also make a great present for Mother's Day or Valentines in 2013. Becky from Good Neighbors Candle Co makes scrummy smelling candles from soy wax. This one's cranberry scented. Mmm, don't you wish this blog had "smellivision. A good thing about this candle is after you've burned it all up, you can just rinse out the container and use the ramekin to make a souffle - the gift that keeps giving!
And speaking of smellivision reminds me of one of my favourite TV shows we watched as kids, the Canadian "You can't do that on Television". Here's a clip if you feel like a trip down memory lane.
We used to love the bit where the cast got slimed!

Here's a gorgeous card set from the talented Canadian, Julia of Cards By JeweleighaB. Yes, I know, a bit late for Christmas this year, but she is having a Boxing Day sale, and we all know how cool it is to stock up on bargains to stash away for next Christmas. Don't try this with chocolate though, it never works!

Teresa makes cute skirts in her shop Creations by Jessi, and she must have lots of left over scraps! Grab a scraptastic scrap bundle for a quilt or crafty project.

I love this scripture from Word Of God, since it was the inspiration for my shop name - BananaOrangeApple is something silly we used to shout when singing "You are the light of the world".

The penultimate featured CAST shop is Ellie Marie Designs, a predominately paper craft shop. Here are some of Karen's tags, maybe too late for Christmas but just right for Valentines or Easter gifts.

And finally, this cute little Christmas decoration is from The Peaceful Heart. Such a sweet little Christmas robin.

In shop news, here is a cute little dress and bloomers set which I sewed this afternoon. I hope to make a few more like this in the next few days.

And I might have gone a bit crazy and ordered myself a custom made shop stamp from Japan. I plan to make my parcels look super special, and to stamp some labels to sew onto my clothes. The stamps should look this this (but say BananaOrangeApple of course!). I can't wait to try them out.
