Spring Green

Hello everybody.

A few months back I set myself the goal of getting my friend Niki onto the front page of Etsy. Finally today my dream came true. Today when I got home from a long day at work followed by an enterprise agreement meeting, I found my spring green treasury on the front page. Here is a screen shot.
Needless to say I am very proud of myself, but mainly because I am able to bring this wonderful lady some extra exposure and hopefully some sales. You can see her shop here. She loves the Lord, and has a husband and a frisky dalmation named Ellie, and sadly she won't be seeing the front page in person since she lives in the UK and is most likely is fast asleep! Niki very kindly agreed to draw a picture of my dog Maggie which I gave to DD for her 11th birthday. This is my first ever commissioned artwork, and in fact our first ever "orginal" piece of art (if you don't count all those amazing creations DD brings home from school)

Here is Maggie and BJ. These two are rarely apart. In fact, I think Maggie secretly believes she is a shih-tzu. Note how Maggie has one ear cocked. She is listening to The Pickle who was taking the photo. That weird purple thing just poking out from under the couch is Maggie's favourite toy, the wubba.

This is the photo of Maggie and the Pickle that Niki used to draw her picture. It was taken at the start of last year, and both girls have grown up a bit since then

Here is the finished artwork. It is only about the size of a business card. We love it!
I even bought a little easel to display it on.

Here is a selection of the other treasuries I made with Niki in them.

I think that is enough treasuries for one post, although I could go on. There are many more! I really do love making treasuries, and now I think I will pick another team member to concentrate my efforts on.

In other shop related news, I have signed up to have a stall at the FashNTreasure markets on 10/11/12 at EPIC in Canberra. This is very exciting, and happily my lovely friend and colleage Sue has agreed to come and keep me company and sell some of her handbags. I am very happy with the level of advertising and exposure provided by the market organisers so far. There is a link to my etsy shop and a short bio on their website.

Finally, my old friend Georgia, who I have always called "Georgeous" for short because it suits her so well, has started a blog. She is a much braver woman than me, and once a week she is showcasing a different outfit. This week's outfit was a tribute to Lucille Ball and it was absolutely scrumptious. After I read about how she threw together this outfit I was compelled to go and investigate the other links at the bottom of the page. All of these larger ladies are participating and showing off their fashion sense. I think it is a great idea and if I was a slightly more snappy dresser I would be in it for sure. I don't think the world needs to see what outfits I wear to work each week. Anyway, if you are interested in fashion or just having a stickybeak at how the fashion conscious live, go have a look.

Oh and I really have to prune my roses. But it will have to wait until Sunday since I am working as an election official on Saturday and I can't go home until all the votes have been tallied. My lovely inlaws gave me a new rose to commemorate my grandfather who passed away recently. It is called "old fragrance" and I am looking forward to planting that as well.

  6. Thanks for all the kind comments! The last treasury, the blue one, was on the front page today and Becky was featured. I am waiting for her to wake up and let me know if she got a spike in views to her shop! Such a thrill.

  8. And it deserves to be on the FP! A lot of people are really good at making treasuries and you are definitely one of them! I am not!! LOL! Thanks for the link about the fashion blog; I enjoy them. I started researching 2 years ago and it really got me out of my frumpy ways, much to my husbands delight! :)))
